2009 (November) Caribbean Cruise Cruise on the Caribbean Princess, a fantastic floating city, cruising from San Juan (Puerto Rico), to St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands), Road Town (Tortola, British Virgin Islands), St. John's (Antigua), Castries (St. Lucia),  Bridgetown (Barbados) and back to San Juan
2009 (August) Scotland Spent 16 days first visiting Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and then on a rental car trip through the Kingdom of Five, the Grampian Mountains, Loch Ness, the Highlands, the East, North and West Coasts, the Isle of Skyek, Glen Finnan, Loch Lomond, the Trossachs National Park and the Sirling Region
2009 (March) Cyprus Spent 9 days on Cyrpus in a running traning week and also managed to get in some sightseeing
2008 Côte d'Azur Spent a couple of days in Nice in the context of the Marathon des Alpes Maritimes Nice - Cannes (Marathon pictures)
2008 Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain) Spent ten days in a sport camp and took advantage to also visit this unique Volcano Island
2008 China (Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou) Spent a week in the Shanghai area to participate in the World Inline Cup Marathon in Suzhou and for some sight-seeing
2008 Spain Spent a week at the Costa de la Luz for a marathon preparation week
2007 Argentina After Buenos Aires Marathon I traveled through most parts of Argentina (Salta, Bariloche, El Calafate, Ushuaia, Peninsula Valdes)
2006 Japan Before and after Fukuchiyama Marathon I spent some time in Japan visiting.

2001 Mount Cook, New Zealand The Mount Cook region is as beautiful as the Swiss Alps. I had a fantastic time curing my missing of the mountains.

  • Giant Kauri trees in the Kauri forest

  • Caving in the Waitomo caves (abseiling through waterfalls and crawling through half flooded  holes in a wetsuit)

  • Mount Taranki (2,500 meter high volcano rising from sea level)

  • Rotorura (volcani activity and Maori culture)

  • Skiing in Whakapapa on a volcano

  • Napier (world largest Art Deco city)

Trekked almost four weeks in the Indian part of the Himalayas and climbed Mount Stok Kangri (6,153 meters, 20,187 feet)
